What's in a name?
Follow your dreams
Making news

Olive Loves Alfie is just part of my dream. When I started working on the concept it very rapidly developed into something tangible. It had to be more than just another idea. One evening sitting around our kitchen table Olive said  “Mummy is trying really really hard”.  She instinctively knew that it was the beginning of something special and that it was a really important part of my personal journey.  I thought it was an amazing thing for a 4 year old to say and I don’t think I have ever felt more appreciated in my life.

Along the way I have been lucky enough to discover some beautifully spirited and inspired people who at least in part are following their dreams too.   In answer to some questions here are just some of the funny and brilliant things they have to say:-

What is your favourite name?
Mummy (Sarah @ Buttonbag)

What was your favourite story book?
The Finish Moomintrolls with their melancholic wisdom (Emily @ Plastisock)

What did you want to be when you grew up?
Big, invisible and free (Peter @ Kids On Roof)

Where is your favourite place?
Home (Vigga @ Katvig)

What is your favourite colour?
This week silver (Emily @ Lucky Wang NYC)
Turtle green (Agnes @ Madame Mo)

What makes you smile?
When my daughter Scarlet is undressed and says “I got my nudie on”
(Emma Rebel Parkes @ Rock A Bye Baby)
Bedtime – the children’s and mine (Sarah @ Buttonbag)
My children's gobbledy gook and laughter (Petra @ Petra Boase)

Who or what inspires you
Olive’s Mummy
(Genevieve @ Puregene for whom the feeling is entirely mutual – respect!)
In politics and spirituality Aung San Suu Kyi; in literature Mary Oliver and Jon McGregor; in my life my gorgeous three children
(Tessa @ Barefoot Books)

What is your mantra?
Love Many, Trust Few, always paddle your own canoe (Tessa @ Barefoot Books)
Always stay curious (Emily @ Plastisock)

What is your dream?
To have several lives, to be a florist, creator of perfumes, violin maker, singer, painter, chef, architect, designer, jeweller, composer and also a hairdresser
(Pascale @ Madame Mo)

If I had just one wish for Olive it would be that she has the strength to follow her dreams with an honest and happy heart.

May you always follow you dreams too. X
